    Join us for an immersive plant walk in the beautiful area of Payson, Arizona to explore the medicinal and edible plants of the region. For thousands of years, the Sonoran Desert has generously provided food, medicine, and shelter to the original peoples of this land.     About Your Guide

    Jennifer Ribaudo is a Certified Clinical Herbalist, Bioregional Herbalist, and Wellness Coach who feels most at home in the Sonoran Desert but loves exploring ecosystems worldwide in search of medicinal and traditional plants. A former Army veteran and corporate professional, she followed a deep calling to reconnect with nature and holistic healing. As the founder of Desert Moon Botanicals, she created a thriving herbal community and offers handcrafted small-batch remedies through her online shop. Whether leading plant walks or teaching herbal medicine, Jennifer weaves together tradition, science, and plant spirit wisdom to help others connect with the healing power of nature.     What You Will Learn

    Specifications

    Participants must be able to comfortably walk at least one mile over uneven, rocky desert terrain while carrying their own supplies. This is an outdoor event; please dress appropriately for desert conditions, including protective clothing. Closed-toe shoes (preferably hiking boots) and a water bottle are mandatory. Hats and sunscreen are strongly recommended. Bring necessary personal medical supplies (aside from basic first aid). If you have bee allergies, please carry an epi-pen. Participants arriving unprepared (e.g., sandals or without water) will not be permitted to join the walk. Note that there are no restroom facilities at the site, so please plan accordingly.

    We will not be foraging, or collecting plants during class.

    Space is limited on each plant walk. Your personal registration is non-refundable but may be transferred to another person of your choice.

    Location: Payson, Arizona

    One week prior to the plant walk, an email will be sent to you with a trail map (bathrooms, exit paths, and plants labeled), your supplies checklist, weather possibilities and possible list of medicinal plants we may see.

    After the walk, Jennifer will have a selection of Sonoran Desert herbal products from Desert Moon Botanicals available for purchase.

    Children & Guests

    No children under the age of 15, or spontaneous guests. Adults may sign up one week prior to the walk.

    Extreme Weather and Wildfires/Prescribed Burns

    As summer approaches, the risk of high temperatures increases. To ensure participant safety, walks are scheduled early in the morning. In cases of extreme heat (100°F or higher), monsoon conditions, wildfire, or prescribed burns near our location, the walk may be rescheduled or relocated. Any changes will be communicated via email at least four days prior to the event. Should weather conditions remain dangerous, the walk may be rescheduled for one or two Saturdays later.
