Learn About Medicinal Plants in Prescott's National Forest

Come join us on an excursion through nature, guided by a local herbalist. Do you know what’s growing in your own backyard? Our community is such a beautiful place: with incredible historical landmarks, indigenous culture, archeological sites, vast and observable ecological differences with elevation, wildlife, medicinal (and poisonous) plants, and so much more. We’ll be exploring various locations of your choosing through Prescott Parks to identify and learn about medicinal plants in that location. We will discover the difference between native, cultivated, and invasive species, specifications for foraging/harvesting, plant endangerment/rarity, medicinal properties and the chemical constituents that deliver these benefits, medicinal preparation and uses of the plants, as well as the folklore, and history associated.
